from Heriberto M. Yepez: "I came to Tucson for a poetry reading, and this is my second time in Casa Libre. I cannot but tell good things about it; Casa Libre is the perfect place to stay as a writer traveling. Thanks." (April 2006)

from Alyson White: "During this stay at Casa Libre en la S., my first, the quiet, together with supportive congeniality, and the qualities and features of my living and workspace allowed me to analyze concepts from Polanyi as explicated by David Wei Loong Hung, to create an initial code list my reserach partner and I can now synthesize with codes that are emerging from transcripts of writing confs. and semistructured interviews collectd August 2005 - February 2006. Thank you." (March 2006)

from Gary Glazner: "Casa Libre is the center of the poetry universe. You enter through a courtyard like a Spanish house. People dig their feet into the hot tub like ancient Greeks. This is a place where Homer would have been at home. Poets welcome." (April 2006)

from Tara McPherson: "I came to give a lecture to the illustration department at the University of Arizona. I love this place immensely! I feel like I've been taken back in time here. Definitely wish I could have stayed for a longer visit...maybe next time." (April 2006)

from Erin Andersen: "Coming back after the lecture and going out, we truly felt like we were coming home. The environment you've created is so inspiring, such a good vibe. We both joked about Hemingway or Bukowski coming out of the next suite and offering us a glass of wine. It was so nice to have tape and scissors and all the everyday things one needs provided. I'm so impressed with the entire dream you've made into a reality. Good luck, and cheers." (April 2006)

from Nathalie Handal: "A small heaven. I wrote more in two days than I have in months. And you two ladies are wonderful. Casa Libre is a treasure; here, our soul is free...I really do not want to leave--that wooden table and red chair in the kitchen [of suite 4] will see me again." (March 2006)

from David Abel: "As I write this, a songbird calls, and Jonah the cat strolls in the open door--I'm sad to leave Casa Libre where I've had a delightful time with my old friend from NYC, Simon Pettet. I hope to return when I have a more relaxed schedule, and take advantage of the retreat-like atmosphere in this very precious refuge. Thanks for being here!" (March 2006)

from Judith Ingram: "I wanted a place where it was warm and where I'd have time to write and wouldn't have to worry about children, grandchildren, committee meetings, doctors' appointments, etc...plus the high-speed hook-up. Casa Libre certainly seemed to be just the right spot. I have so enjoyed getting to know Ann and Kristen. They are hostesses 'extraordinaire.' If I needed something, they would go out of their way to supply me with it. They gave such attention to detail in supplying each writing studio with the necessary items. Thank you, Ann, for putting up with my computer non-knowledge and for bailing me out. I like the funkiness of this place. Being here has been a lovely experience for me, and I do wish you much luck with this endeavor." (March 2006)

from Susanna Sonnenberg: "I came to Casa Libre for three weeks to concentrate on my book away from the daily responsibilities of family life. Casa Libre provides a true sanctuary. Owners Ann Fine and Kristen Nelson understand the writer's craving for solitude and peace. They have taken obvious pains to create a lovely atmosphere that is conducive to creative work. I appreciate their attention to domestic comfort as well as their availability to help with anything that came up. I plan to return to my new home in beautiful Tucson." (March 2006)

from Katherine O'Flynn: "My stay at Casa Libre has been everything I could wish for. The suite [four] is comfortable, attractive, and very well equipped. Wireless internet is a great asset. I enjoyed the pleasant ambiance of the courtyard and appreciated the convenience of the downtown location. Ann and Kristen have been most kind, friendly, and helpful." (January 2006)

from Wendy Ross: "I have been a practicing professional artist for over twenty-five years and have written and published articles on sculpture and specifically the role of public art in various communities. Jim and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa Libre. It's a great location for those who like to get around to restaurants and shops on foot. 4th Avenue is an interesting corridor to discover and to wander through. Ann and Kristen, you are gracious and accessible hosts and very helpful guides on getting around Tucson and beyond. Our suite [two] had a good layout and was very comfortable! Thank you for having my favorite blend of coffee in the fridge. Next time, I will remember my bathing suit and take a dip in your lovely pool." (January 2006)
